Suspect accused of crashing stolen ambulance arraigned

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The suspect accused of causing a serious crash while driving a stolen ambulance appeared in court on Friday. Adam Cole, 25, was arraigned on multiple charges in Schenectady City Court.

Investigators said he approached an ambulance in Cobleskill Saturday night and told the two EMTs that there was an emergency nearby. When the EMTs went to investigate, Cole allegedly drove off in the ambulance with a patient inside.

The patient was dropped off at a gas station, and police pursued the ambulance until it crashed into another car in Schenectady. Cole is due back in court on September 12.
