Report: Spurs player has rediscovered his ‘smile’ out on loan this season

0

A lot of Spurs players have headed out on loan this season to gain experience, make a name for themselves, and develop in order to improve their standing in Ange Postecoglou’s squad. Some, though, will be more focused on securing their next transfer, and it seems to be working for one player.

Gil is happy at Girona

Of all the players temporarily away from Spurs, Bryan Gil is one who certainly does not have a future in North London and will be eager to impress in order to get a permanent move elsewhere next summer.

He is on loan at Girona this season, in his homeland, and appears to be much happier out in Spain, just as he was in previous spells with Valencia and Sevilla.

Discussing the winger’s progress in the early stages of this campaign, EFE, (relayed by MSN) had nothing but positive things to say about Gil, and suggested he is really enjoying life at Girona.

The report mentions how Gil has “regained his smile” since arriving back in Spain, and has even been earmarked as one of the team’s “star players” so far this season.

It is said the 23-year-old has “adapted perfectly” to his new surroundings, and is playing a “leading role” in Girona’s La Liga campaign. There is hope that Gil can now “take a step forward” in his career after a difficult period with Spurs.

Massive improvement for Gil

Gil has played four matches, scoring one goal for Girona, and has 341 minutes under his belt from a possible 360 (Transfermarkt).

That is already more than the 233 minutes he played for Spurs last season, across 12 appearances.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that Bryan Gil is far better suited to La Liga than he is the Premier League, and he’s obviously more comfortable in Spain itself, too. There’s no wonder he’s happier now. I’m sure he will end up at a Spanish club next summer and will thrive out there for years to come.
