Drugs, stolen guns, cell phones seized in Acadia Parish drug bust
ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A search of a home near Egan has resulted in an arrest and the seizure of drugs, as well as several stolen guns and cell phones, authorities said.
Cyrus Antoine, 43, of Egan, was arrested and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on the following charges:
- 1 count felony theft
- 8 counts possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- 2 count possession of stolen property
- 3 counts of felony possession of narcotics
- 8 counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Aug. 30 in the 400 block of Trumps Road near Egan regarding a theft investigation, officials said.
During the search of the property, deputies recovered firearms, cell phones and narcotics. In total, 8 guns were seized with one being confirmed stolen and 18 cell phones were recovered with one being confirmed as stolen. Deputies said they believe that the majority if not all of the firearms and cell phones are possibly stolen.
Also during the search, various narcotics were found inside of the residence, including 88 grams of fentanyl, 11 grams of marijuana, amphetamines and Alprazolam (Xanax) pills were also located, authorities said.
Antoine's bond has been set at $167,000. This case remains under investigation.
