I got 4 goth makeup must-haves at Dollar Tree, then did some digging – they’re made by a pricier brand’s parent company
A BEAUTY lover found several must-haves to complete her goth look at Dollar Tree.
After a bit of research, she discovered that they were made by the same parent company as a pricier cosmetics brand.
Reddit user Shebehaunted found out a secret after taking a trip to her local Dollar Tree.
She scooped up four products to add to her beauty bag.
While at the discount store, she picked up a brow gel, eyeliner pencil, liquid lipstick, and face highlight from the brand Ioni Cosmetics.
Ioni was popularized on TikTok for its costume-like and avante-garde products and was founded in 2008.
“I saw this collection and the goth in me needed it,” she wrote in a post.
The boxes were Halloween-themed and named after monsters, such as Frankie, Drac, Miss Invisible, and The Phantom.
She bought them because she had used the lashes previously and liked them, plus the price was right.
“Who can beat $1.25?!” she said.
After she purchased the items, she “made a discovery about the makeup sold in Dollar Tree.”
“It’s literally repackaged LASplash,” she wrote.
It dawned on her when she recognized the packaging on the products and thought “maybe it had been copied.”
“I did some digging and the company that makes this is the same parent company who owns L.A. Splash,” she explained.
LASplash Cosmetics is an American beauty brand that was founded in 1996.
California-based designer and color cosmetics manufacturer Jon Davler became the parent company of the brand in 2001.
Ioni Cosmetics is also owned by Jon Davler, even though Blaise Patrick is the founder and CEO.
“It’s the same makeup….for $1.25,” the Redditor said.
She admitted that she was ” mindblown” after she found out about the beauty deal.

They added that they are going to have to check out the Dollar Tree again for the brand because “it’s been a while” and “their lashes are amazing.”
“Got some great, great eye shadow brushes there that I don’t feel bad about hoarding lol,” another wrote.
