Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert reveals McDonald’s Monopoly tricks to boost your chance of winning
MARTIN Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert has revealed how Maccie’s customers can up their chances of winning big on its Monopoly game.
The fast food chain has relaunched its popular game for 2024, with it closing on October 15.
McDonald’s Monopoly is running for six weeks[/caption]It works much like the traditional board game, with players able to win stickers when buying certain products that can be redeemed for free food or drinks.
Other stickers feature properties which can be grouped into sets to win bigger prizes like an electric car, holiday or even £100,000 cash.
And while Monopoly is essentially a game of chance, there are ways you can boost your chances of winning big this year.
In its latest newsletter, the MoneySavingExpert website revealed four big tips you can use to increase your odds.
Double your chances of winning via the McDonald’s app
If you peel off a sticker in your local McDonald’s restaurant and it’s a property, you can scan it into the app and receive a bonus “digital peel”.
There are three possible outcomes from a digital peel – a cash prize worth £5 to £100, an instant win prize (free food or drink) or a property which you can either bank or enter into a prize draw for a chance to win the £100,000 free cash.
Sign up to the McDonald’s Rewards scheme
If you’re signed up to McDonald’s’ loyalty scheme, My McDonald’s Rewards, or you sign up, you’ll receive a code for a free bonus peel.
Any bonus peel will be sent to the email address you inputted when setting up your account.
Look out for rare stickers
Each set of properties has a rare or uncommon sticker that’s harder to get hold of than the others.
If you find one of these, make sure you hold on to it tight, or scan it into the app, as it should make completing a set much easier.
These are some of the rare stickers to look out for this year:
- Dark Blue – Mayfair
- Green – Regent Street
- Yellow – Leicester Square
- Red – Strand
- Orange – Bow Street
- Pink – Pall Mall
- Light Blue – The Angel
- Train Station – King Cross Station
“Womble” unchecked stickers
Not everyone that buys a qualifying item in McDonald’s is going to peel the sticker off the packaging.
So, MSE said, you could “womble”, which means scouring your local restaurant for any unpeeled stickers lingering about.

How to save at McDonald's
You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald’s receipts.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.
The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.
You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.
The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details – otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
Digital Peel Game prizes
You need to download the McDonald’s app on your Android or Apple device to access this game.
Players can earn a free digital peel by scanning their physical stickers into the app, which gives them more chances to win.
Look for a code on your online game piece to get the chance to take home some prizes.
