Lakers sign Alex Fudge to Exhibit-10 contract
The Lakers are bringing back Alex Fudge, who will join the team as part of the training camp roster.
With training camp nearing, the Los Angeles Lakers are adding additional players to the roster.
On Thursday, they signed Alex Fudge, who had a brief stint with the team last season as a two-way player and also played with the franchise’s G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

Last year, Fudge started on a Lakers two-way contract but was waived to bring in Dylan Windler.
He then signed a two-way deal with the Dallas Mavericks and finished the season there.
During his six games of NBA action last season, Fudge averaged a modest 2.5 points and 0.8 rebounds. In his G-League play, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.
These numbers might not jump off the page, but he’s a rotation-level player in the G-League looking to develop his game and seems comfortable playing with the South Bay Lakers. So, bringing him back to the organization makes sense. It is very low risk with a moderate chance of reward.
Fudge is the most recent player to sign an Exhibit-10 deal with the Lakers, but he is far from the only one.
Jordan Goodwin, Kylor Kelley, Quincy Olivari and Vincent Valerio-Bodon all signed these training camp deals with the franchise this summer.
Valerio-Bodon, however, was the only one from this group who signed this contract and was immediately waived the following day.
That may seem odd, but it allows Los Angeles to retain Valerio-Bodon’s G League rights and pay him more money, so long as he plays for South Bay this season.
Given that the Lakers roster has no open spots, Valerio-Bodon’s path is the best-case scenario for these Exhibit-10 guys.
Ultimately, these players will likely either end up playing for the South Bay Lakers or hoping they performed well enough in training camp and preseason games to convince another franchise to give them a chance.
We still have a few weeks to see how that transpires.
For now, Fudge and friends will prepare for training camp, which will likely begin in either late September or early October.
