Duke Women’s Basketball Suffers A Significant Loss
Could be a major blow to a rising program
Duke women’s basketball suffered a major loss as the program announced that freshman Arianna Roberson is out for the year with a knee injury.
Roberson suffered the injury at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in late August.
A 6-4 center who was a Top Twenty recruit, Roberson was the only center listed on the roster. Coach Kara Lawson has options, but they might be a step down. Jordan Wood, a 6-4 sophomore, is one option. Delaney Thomas is a 6-3 sophomore.
Beyond that, she could get creative and go with a small ball lineup. It’ll be an interesting test of her basketball imagination - and of course some of her players will get a major opportunity. We’ll see what they make of it.
