The pair are now married, and Stephanie revealed she did all the housework including cooking, cleaning and washing.

But because of their traditional relationship, Evan and Stephanie are trolled online.

He revealed some of the nasty comments: “The comments that we get online are kind of like this ‘Did you pay for this one?’ ‘Bro imported a slave.’

“Stephanie is a great cook. I’m very lucky. She cooks everything. When people say Stephanie’s my maid, I don’t take it personal because I know that we are both happy and we have a good thing going between the two of us,” Evan told Love Don’t Judge.

Evan revealed he downloaded a Filipino dating app and met Stephanie and after three weeks decided to met her in person.

Stephanie revealed that as soon as he landed they became exclusive.

“Flying to the Philippines is not cheap. It’s about $2,000 round trip. I’d say I spend about $5,000 each trip. So about $15,000 for the three trips,” he explained.

She added that he had spent $20,000 (£15,000) to bring her to the US and start a life together.

After meeting up three times, the pair decided to elope and get married after 90 days of being together in the US and haven’t looked back since.

The pair added that they brush off most of the hate comments and try not to reply to too many.

But revealed that the interactions helps them go viral, so they play into the nasty comments.

Despite some claiming Stephanie will milk Evan dry of his money, the pair reveal it’s true love.

Stephanie added: “Evan changed my life in a lot of ways also. I mean, aside from him bringing me here, that really changed my whole life.

“I feel more confident with myself because even if I look so bad waking up, you’re just, oh, you’re so beautiful.”

What is a trad wife?

A trad wife (short for traditional wife) is a woman who chooses to take on an ultra traditional role in marriage, meaning she makes dinner and looks pretty whilst her husband goes to work.

The trend takes inspiration from the idea of a 1950s housewife.

Many ‘trad wives’ choose to dress in the style of clothing popular in this period (think floral dresses and frumpy cardigans).

Additionally, the values considered important to trad wives are similar to strict Christian values.

Trad wives believed they were not forced into this way of life, and that it was their purpose to be homemakers.

The trend, which has garnered attention on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, glamorises a time gone by with little acknowledgement of the economic challenges facing families and mothers today.

The clip soon went viral on YouTube with over 19,400 views and 700 likes.

People were quick to take to the comments in support of their relationship.

One person wrote: “They’re honestly pretty cute together. as long as it’s mutual and they’re both happy, good for them.”

Another commented: “She’s seems really genuine. I pray that it works out for them.”

“I see no problem here,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “They are too cute. It doesn’t seem like he went into the app desperate. He then saw her and something sparked. They are perfect for each other.”

“They’re such a cute couple. I wish them a beautiful lasting union,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “All that matters is that they really love each other that’s it.”
