A BRITISH Paralympian broke the world record twice on his way to winning gold.
Javelin star Dan Pembroke was left lost for words by his incredible feat on night he will never forget.
He smashed the world record in the men’s F13 javelin – breaking the distance set by Aleksandr Svechnikov of Uzbekistan in 2017 by 3.48m.
Pembroke, 33, snatched the record with his third throw of the evening, which travelled a distance of 71.15m.
But the ParalympicsGB star was just warming up, as he then threw 74.49m with his next effort.
He put his hands on his head in disbelief and his emotions were clear to see, with Pembroke delivering a message down the camera.
Pembroke said as his score was announced: “I’ve waited so long for this moment. Oh my God that’s it.”
Channel 4 commentator Ron McIntosh was left stunned as he said: “This one looks good once again oh my goodness! And once more!
“Surely back-to-back world records here in the Stade de France for Pembroke who is in the zone and producing some absolutely magnificent efforts.
“There is confirmation of absolutely astonishing world record figures for Pembroke.”

The athlete has retained the title he won in Tokyo and he is now a double Paralympic and world champion.
Pembroke previously set the Paralympic record in Tokyo with a throw of 69.52m.
His gold takes ParalymicsGB’s total medal haul to 84, with an incredible 36 golds.
Iona Winnifrith also made history at the Games yesterday as she won silver in the SB7 100m breaststroke at just 13 years old.
She produced a lifetime best to finished second behind neutral athlete Mariia Pavlova – who broke the world record.
