The Mangaluru City Corporation will hold an election on September 19 for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor. The mayor's post is reserved for a Scheduled Caste (SC) General candidate, while the deputy mayor's post is reserved for a BCA Woman. The BJP is expected to win the mayoral seat unopposed.
