Sneakers From StockX Will Soon be Available Via Walmart

0

Soon, sneakers from StockX will be available via Walmart.

The retail giant announced in a statement that it has been chosen by StockX as its first strategic marketplace sales channel. Sneakers from StockX, according to Walmart, will be available via Walmart.com and on the Walmart app starting next week.

Walmart further stated that the initial assortment from StockX will feature hundreds of sneakers, and the marketplace “plans to bring thousands of SKUs” to the retailer “in the coming year across sneakers, fashion and even collectibles.”

“This collaboration with Walmart means customers can purchase directly from StockX — which boasts a catalog consisting of more than 200K products from hundreds of brands — or discover the items on Walmart.com, where millions of people begin their shopping missions,” StockX said via statement. “Adding a range of coveted current culture items from StockX helps Walmart Marketplace continue its rapid acceleration by offering more items that customers want and love.”

Walmart explained this move bolsters its efforts “to connect customers to emerging categories and brands” with its e-commerce business on the rise. The retailer said it has experienced more than 30 percent sales growth in each of the past four quarters for Walmart Marketplace.

What’s more, Walmart stated bringing StockX’s products to the retailer’s 255 million customers that shop both in store and via e-comm also builds on its gains made with higher-income customers and with its recent category expansion, which includes collectibles and resold merchandise.

“Walmart’s vast customer base — many of which are new to StockX — will get to experience the platform in a way that is convenient for them,” StockX said in a statement. “StockX sellers can also reach this built-in audience of loyal Walmart customers without sacrificing their current volumes on StockX, as products will be listed across both platforms at scale, delivering massive demand to StockX sellers.”

In other StockX news, the marketplace revealed in a report last month that Nike and Jordan’s market share — longtime mainstays in the resale world — have declined on the platform in 2024, and the brands with the biggest market share increases were Asics and Adidas.

Also in August, StockX teamed up with British streetwear and footwear brand Represent on a new sneaker collab. The Reptor 2 “Notes” sneaker — inspired by the essence of New York City’s Wall Street financial hub — arrived via StockX on Aug. 8.
