Euro giants 'shook hands' to sign United star on Wednesday, player decision revealed - report
Manchester United have had a poor start to the Premier League season with only three points secured from the opening three games.
Casemiro had a good outing from the defensive midfield role versus Fulham, but he struggled against Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool.
The Brazilian was substituted at half-time versus Liverpool at Old Trafford after gifting possession in the lead-up to two goals for the visitors.
Casemiro has since been linked with an exit and Turkiye Gazetesi claim that Galatasaray and United ‘shook hands’ over a season-long loan on Wednesday.
However, the midfielder was not convinced over a move to Istanbul. He prefers to remain in England to fight for his place under manager Erik ten Hag.
Casemiro could leave United in January
The 32-year-old has been ever-present in the starting XI for United this term, but the scenario is widely expected to change following the international break.
Collyer made his Premier League debut for United replacing Casemiro last weekend. The youngster won 100% of his ground duels alongside 75% of his tackles.
It remains to be seen whether Collyer will make his maiden start for the club next week. The Red Devils travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton on September 14.
Summer signing Manuel Ugarte is expected to become the permanent choice for the no.6 role, but he may need one or two games off the bench, as per Ten Hag.
In our view, Casemiro could become a peripheral figure in the coming months if Ugarte were to impress.
This could urge him to consider an exit at the turn of the year. We won’t be surprised if Casemiro receives a lucrative package from the Saudi Pro League this winter.
