I-70, Highway 75 exit ramp closures scheduled in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Construction crews are set to close several highway exit ramps in the Topeka area Thursday night.

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced in a press release on Sept. 5 that drivers should expect exit ramp closures from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sept. 6. The closures are temporary and will remain unavailable to motorists for a few hours each.

  • Ramps closing from 6 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 5.
    • Eastbound I-70 exit ramp leading to eastbound I-470.
    • Eastbound I-70 exit ramp leading to Wanamaker Road.
  • Ramps closing from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Sept. 6.
    • Eastbound I-70 exit ramp going to northbound U.S. 75.
    • Southbound U.S. 75 exit ramp heading to eastbound I-70.

Kate Craft with KDOT said message boards and signage will be in place to help direct traffic. Drivers can keep up with ongoing highway projects by calling 511 or going to kandrive.gov.
