Taylor Swift arrives at Arrowhead for Chiefs season opener
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Pop star Taylor Swift has returned to Arrowhead Stadium Thursday night to watch the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens to kick off the 2024 season.
This is the singer's second season as a Chiefs fan. Swift first appeared last September at Arrowhead to watch the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears after she and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce began dating.
Swift soon became a regular at games, both home and away, frequently sitting with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
It has been a busy offseason for the high-profiled romantic couple with Kelce dropping on on the Eras Tour and Swift concluding the European part of the tour and will be on break until she begins stops across North America in October.
Last month, Swift canceled three sold-out shows in Vienna after the CIA discovered intelligence that led to multiple arrests of men linked to the Islamic State group.
Taylor Swift and Kelce’s romance has contributed to his recent rise in popularity. According to FlashPicks, Travis Kelce is the most searched-for player in 49 states and has over 4.75 million searches every month, which is 3 million more than any other NFL player.
Following Swift's first appearance at Arrowhead last season, Kelce saw a nearly 400% increase in jersey sales.
The AFC Championship rematch Thursday is a showdown between two teams favored to meet again in the playoffs with a trip to New Orleans on the line, and for Kansas City, a shot at the first three-peat in Super Bowl history.
