Darren Bent reveals where he thinks Tottenham will finish this season
The season may be young, but Darren Bent has offered his thoughts on where he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will finish in the Premier League, and praised his former club for making two exciting signings this summer.
Top five finish for Spurs?
Spurs achieved a fifth-placed finish in Ange Postecoglou‘s first season last term, achieving qualification for this year’s Europa League. They earned plenty of plaudits along the way for their attacking football, too, but there were certainly areas for improvement.
A busy summer has seen Postecoglou make necessary changes to his squad, and the acquisition of Dominic Solanke, in particular, is seen as a signing that instantly makes Spurs a better proposition.
However, while he appreciates the signing of Solanke, and also praised the addition of Wilson Odobert, Darren Bent believes Spurs will only be able to match last season’s top-five finish rather than going one better and landing in the top four.
He told talkSPORT (Sept 3rd, 5:38 pm): “Five – Spurs. They look quite decent. Dominic Solanke, I really like him. I know he has got the injury, but I think he is decent. I really like Odobert as well. He is young, but I like him as well. I have gone Spurs five.”
Solanke could be key for Spurs
Bent is not the only one to highlight Solanke as a potentially very important player for Spurs this year. Former Lilywhites striker, Teddy Sheringham, recently told Prime Casino that the new signing will be the one to add the ‘finishing touch’ to the team.
Meanwhile, Ally McCoist told talkSPORT (8:11 AM, Aug 20) that Solanke can be a ‘success’ for Spurs this term.

I think we will go one better than Bent’s prediction this season and finish fourth.
I think once Solanke and the other new boys really start firing and things click with the whole squad, we will be a different proposition and will be able to get some big results.
