64-year-old man charged with sexual harassment set for trial
A 64-year-old man charged with sexual harassment and indecent assault against two female minors has been referred to a criminal trial, scheduled for later this month.
A judge on Thursday referred the man to trial before Limassol district court. The trial begins on September 19.
Commenting on the case, police spokesman Christos Andreou said the man faces three charges, including sexual harassment and indecent assault.
The defendant was released from police custody until his trial date. However, the court imposed certain restrictions on the man, including forbidding him from coming within 100 metres of the two minors, the plaintiffs.
Police arrested the 64-year-old last week, after establishing discrepancies in his account of an incident involving himself and the teenage girls.
He claimed to have been assaulted and robbed by a group of youngsters.
