Keeping NYC schools safe

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Safety is on everyone's minds as New York City public schools welcome students back.

It comes in the wake of a deadly school shooting in Georgia and the shooting of a teacher in the Bronx, but gun violence is just one of the challenges facing school safety officers.

The chief of the NYPD's school safety division, Inspector Tracy Mulet, discusses more details on what's being done to keep children safe.
