San Jose police arrest three men for allegedly running brothels out of homes

SAN JOSE — Three men were arrested on suspicion of operating residential brothels in San Jose, according to a department press release.

A 34-year-old San Jose resident and a 60-year-old San Jose resident were arrested on Aug. 28, and a 53-year-old Rosemead resident was taken into custody on Sept. 3, police said. All three were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of human trafficking charges.

The suspect from Rosemead, a city in Los Angeles County, is being held without bail. He is expected to be appear in court in September.

San Jose police said they received multiple tips from community members about residential brothels in the city. The San Jose Police Department Human Trafficking Task Force conducted a two-month long investigation that led to the arrests.

Officers from multiple specialized units used three search warrants on Aug. 28 at suspected residential brothels on the 200 block of Palacio Royal Circle, the 700 block of Bonita Avenue and the 1100 block of Gifford Avenue.

Four women who were victims of human trafficking were found during the searches and provided resources, police said.
