Heavy Storms Likely Throughout Today and Tomorrow

Heavy showers and storms are already moving into and through Acadiana this Thursday morning. Widespread rains are expected to continue throughout the day, tonight, and through much of Friday. A Flood Watch is in effect until 7:00 pm Friday for much of the area. Heavy rains are possible which could lead to localized flash flooding. The higher threat should be in coastal Acadiana. Clouds and rainfall will keep temperatures in the 70s to 80s today and tomorrow.

Rainfall estimates are 3 to 6" inches over the next two days with isolated higher amounts, especially in coastal regions. Much better weather returns this weekend with the arrival of a fall-like cold front on Saturday.
