Raising awareness of benefits of foster care
An artistic and creative event for all tomorrow has a special goal – to raise awareness about foster care and the increasing need for foster families. Within the framework of the From Hope to Home project, funded by the European Union, the Hope For Children CRC Policy Centre in collaboration with interdisciplinary artist Stefanos Papadas is organising a fun and informative day out in Nicosia this Friday.
A treasure hunt and a multisensory audio-visual art installation at two different locations invite the public to learn more about foster care. The treasure hunt will take place at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens at 6pm, and is organised in collaboration with the Oral History Project People of Cyprus. Participants will be provided with information about foster care in an interactive and participatory way which they will discover while exploring the gardens.
The From Hope to Home will then culminate at the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation with Stefanos Papadas’ art installation aiming to evoke empathy and commitment to child safety. Once there, sound, moving images, space and music will guide the participants before a public figure who is also a foster parent shares his deeply personal story on fostering.
