My stylist found a huge bald spot on my head – my hair started growing back in 1.5 months when I made a DIY spray
A DIY spray triggered rapid hair growth for a woman suffering from excessive shedding due to stress.
She said it took less than two months for her bald patch to regrow after routinely putting the mixture on her locks.
A Reddit user revealed the DIY spray she used to stimulate hair growth (stock image)[/caption]She shared her hair growth hack on Reddit’s Beauty forum in response to a post asking how to make tresses grow fast.
“During my last semester of college, I was under a lot of stress,” she said, writing under the handle Confetti-Cakes330.
“I thought getting my hair done would make me feel better, but my stylist discovered a huge bald spot on my head.
“I wondered wtf [what the f**k] was going on before I discovered the spot because I was also shedding a bunch.”
The Redditor decided to experiment with a home hair growth remedy after hearing people rave about their results.
She made it using an ingredient readily available in grocery stores.
“Long story short, I heard rosemary works,” she said.
“My hair and bald spot started growing back within 1 1/2 months!
“I get fresh rosemary and let it simmer in water for a little over an hour until the water turns super dark and boils (this also makes your house smell amazing!).
“I transfer it into a spray bottle (when cooled) and just start spraying a ton on my roots.”
She said doing chores keeps her busy while leaving the rosemary water to sit on her hair for at least two hours.
The wash day hack wasn’t her only advice for stimulating growth.
“Another thing that helped is getting those scalp massagers, it gets your roots activated and feels super good!” she said.
HEROIC HERB
Many people upvoted the post and said they were eager to try it for themselves.
The Redditor wasn’t the only person in the thread to suggest using rosemary for boosting hair growth speed.
“Massage in rosemary oil half an hour before you wash your hair,” one person said.
“Scalp massages with castor and rosemary oil 3-4x a week for at least 10 min, flip your head upside down,” another commented.
They added that multivitamins, a healthy diet, and quality haircare products can make a “huge difference” in hair growth.

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
Research has shown that rosemary may improve blood flow to the scalp and reduce inflammation, which according to Verywell Health provides an environment to support hair growth.
The herb has several nutrients including iron, vitamin A, and vitamin C.
Studies have suggested that rosemary oil could be as effective as hair loss treatment minoxidil when applied to the scalp.
However, there are limited findings to support the benefits of using rosemary water instead of rosemary oil for hair health.
