Man arrested for Nicosia burglaries

A 42-year-old was arrested on Wednesday night in connection with two burglaries committed in August in Nicosia.

The first case was reported on August 17 by a Nicosia resident, who said that between 1.30am and 10am of the same day a small amount of money and four credit cards had been stolen from her house.

She said the credit cards seemed to have been used at ATMs to withdraw over €2,000 from her bank account.

The second case was reported on August 31 by another Nicosia resident, who said her house had been burgled between 1.30am and 7am of the same day and that two purses containing a small amount of money and a number of credit cards had been stolen.

Investigations produced a testimony against a 42-year-old Nicosia resident, who was arrested after midnight.
