Drunk easyJet passenger tries to storm cockpit mid-flight
A drunk passenger tried to storm the cockpit and open the door of an easyJet flight from Gatwick to Greece while it was 30,000ft in the air.
He declared he was taking over control of flight EZY8235 to Kos, claiming the pilot was ‘rubbish’ after flying through turbulence on Tuesday.
The inflight intercom was broken while cabin crew tackled him to the floor.
Some passengers came to help the crew while others filmed on phones or gripped their seats in fear.
While this was going on in the cabin, the pilot was diverting the plane towards Munich where it made an emergency landing.
Police stormed the plane on arrival, removing the rowdy passenger and handcuffing him on the tarmac outside.
‘Get off you loser’, one passenger shouted as the man was bundled off. Others booed.
A round of applause broke out onboard, with one passenger singled out for praise after ‘restraining him until Captain Mike landed us safely’, a TikTok video claimed.
Passengers were housed in hotels overnight until their journey could be rescheduled.
One passenger said: ‘The cabin crew were great and very brave but the whole drama was very upsetting.’
An easyJet spokesperson said: ‘While such incidents are rare, we do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour.’
