Simon Cowell Reacts to Carrie Underwood Joining 'American Idol' as New Judge
Simon Cowell is sharing his thoughts on Carrie Underwood joining the American Idol judges panel.
Back in July, it was announced that the 41-year-old “Before He Cheats” singer – who won season four of the singing competition series – would be replacing Katy Perry as a judge for the upcoming 23rd season.
In a new interview, Simon, 64, reacted to Carrie joining Idol.
Keep reading to find out more…“I think it’s a good choice,” Simon told E! News. “Carrie, we go back a long way. I remember her audition like it was yesterday. She was so good, she’s such a sweet person.”
Simon served as a judge on American Idol nine seasons, from the show’s premiere in 2002 to 2010.
Also in his interview, Simon shared some tips on being a judge.
“You just gotta say how you feel,” Simon said. “It’s not that difficult doing this job, I promise you. We all feel the same things and we don’t agree, thank God. Otherwise, life would be boring. And just enjoy it.”
In another recent interview, Carrie revealed the “big problem” she has about serving as a judge on American Idol.
