T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A: Mongolia Bundled Out For 10 Against Singapore, Record Joint-Lowest Total

0

New Delhi: Mongolia recorded a new low as they were bowled out just 10 against Singapore on Thursday in a match of men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A in Bangi. Mongolia matched Isle of Man who were all out for 10 against Spain last year. In reply, Singapore chased down the target in just five balls. With this loss, Mongolia remain at the bottom of the table with no wins from four matches.

Batting first, none of the Mongolian batters could stand in front of Singapore’s Harsha Bharadwaj who took a six-wicket haul, conceding just three runs in four overs, including two maidens. Playing his 10th T20I, the 17-year-old Bharadwaj started with two wickets in his first over.

He got his five-wicket haul inside the powerplay as five Mongolian batters were dismissed for ducks. For the record, Mongolia have three of the four lowest totals in men’s T20Is. Earlier, Mongolia were all out for 12 and 17 against Japan and Hong Kong respectively.

Gandemberel Ganbold (2) and Zoljavkhlan Shurentsetseg (2 not out) were the top scorers for Mongolia. In total, Mongolia batted for 10 overs with their partnerships for the fourth and last wickets lasting 11 balls – longest in the game. In reply, Singapore batt Raoul Sharma smashed a six on the first ball while William Simpson sealed the game with a four off the penultimate ball.
