Person on scooter in critical condition after vehicle struck them near campus

UNIVERSITY DISTRICT, Ohio (WCMH) -- A person on a scooter was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening and left seriously injured, police said.

Police said they responded to a call at 9:24 p.m. of a pedestrian struck near campus at W Woodruff Avenue and N High Street. Dispatchers said the call indicated the victim was on a scooter, and they were then transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Dispatchers said the vehicle was still on scene when officers arrived, but had no other information regarding the victim or vehicle that hit them.
