Veteran Chicago police officer found dead in vehicle in Grand Boulevard
A longtime Chicago police officer was found dead Wednesday evening from an apparent gunshot wound to the head in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on the South Side, sources said.
The 44-year-old man was found unresponsive about 5:20 p.m. inside a parked vehicle in the 4000 block of South King Drive, according to police.
Law enforcement sources said he was an 18-year veteran of the department.
Area One detectives were conducting a death investigation, police said. The officer hasn't formally been identified.
