Mid-air terror as drunk easyJet passenger tries to storm cockpit at 30,000 feet
A DRUNK passenger tried to storm an easyJet plane cockpit at 30,000ft.
Pilots initiated an emergency landing after the whisky-fuelled flier wrestled with cabin crew and tried to open an exit door mid-flight.
Tearful families gripped their seats in terror amid pandemonium as the yob broke the inflight intercom and brawled with brave staff.
He was wrestled to the floor by crew and other passengers, who were given a round of applause.
Flight EZY8235 had left Gatwick for Kos on Tuesday afternoon.
After the jet flew through turbulence, the passenger said the captain was “rubbish” and he was taking over the controls.
The flight was diverted to Munich where police and emergency services lined the runway.
Cops stormed the plane, arrested the rogue passenger and hauled him off in handcuffs.
Passengers spent the night in hotels.
A source said: “The cabin crew were great and very brave but the whole drama was very upsetting.”
EasyJet said: “While such incidents are rare, we do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour.”
