Aaron Pierre Explains How 'Rebel Ridge' Helped Him Prepare to Play Mufasa in 'Lion King' Prequel Movie
You might not know Aaron Pierre yet, but he’s about to have the biggest year of his career so far!
The 30-year-old actor is starring in the new Netflix movie Rebel Ridge and he stepped out for the premiere on Tuesday night (September 3) at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
Aaron was joined at the event by co-stars AnnaSophia Robb, Don Johnson, David Denman, Emory Cohen, and Zsane Jhe, as well as writer and director Jeremy Saulnier. The movie will be released for streaming on Netflix on September 6.
Later this year, Aaron will be heard as the voice of Mufasa in the upcoming prequel movie Mufasa: The Lion King. In a recent interview, he opened up about how making Rebel Ridge helped him prepare for the Disney film.

“Interestingly, I think — I only wrapped Mufasa this year and we’ve been doing that for a good few years now. I think in a way, similar to life, your life experiences inform your future life experiences. Similarly, the opportunities that you’re gifted as an actor, as an artist, what you learn and what you harnessed from one job, you take those lessons that you absorbed and you bring them to the next thing to hopefully enhance your capability to bring something to life,” he told ComicBook.com.
