New Delhi: Led by Shubman Gill, India A will take on India B in the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, starting from Thursday (September 5). The India A vs India B match starts at 9 AM IST. With the India vs Bangladesh Test series in the offing, the Duleep Trophy serves as a perfect platform for the national team hopefuls to impress the selectors ahead of the long red-ball season. The first round of matches will be played in Bengaluru and Anantapur.

Team A features the likes of Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep, who were a part of the Indian squad in the Test series against England. Also in the squad is senior batter KL Rahul, who is eyeing a Test comeback. However, India A will be missing the services of pacer Prasidh Krishna as he is still recuperating from an injury.

On the other hand, Team B, led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, consists of the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan Rishabh Pant and Mukesh Kumar. Pant, who returned to cricket during IPL 2024 after 14 months, is also eyeing a Test comeback. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s availability is subject to fitness clearance.
