Apple AirTags slashed to £28 on Amazon – but there’s a £12 alternative customers are calling ‘absolutely life-changing’

AMAZON has cut the cost of Apple’s prized tracking device, the AirTag.

A single tag will now cost you £28, down from £35 – but I’ve found a £12 alternative that shoppers absolutely love.

Amazon has discounted the Apple AirTag to £28 – but there’s a cheaper alternative also available

Apple AirTag, £35 £28 from Amazon

The first deal I spotted on Amazon was on the AirTag, which has been reduced by 20%. As Apple, discounts go, that’s pretty good.

But, as is often the way with Apple tech, this particular product is only compatible with devices from the same brand: think iPhones, iPads and even the iPod Touch (7th generation).

And for those who have a device with iOS 17 installed, the AirTag can be placed on shared items that up to five people can track (there will never be a family feud over lost keys again).

Once secured onto an item, customers can track and locate it via the Find My app – and they won’t need to worry about it running out of charge any time soon as the product has been specifically designed to stay powered for more than a year.

In addition to this, the AirTag is equipped with a sound feature and a built-in speaker, a lost mode feature, built‑in Ultra Wideband technology to provide precision finding, and access to Siri and the Find My network.

The Apple offering is also water-resistant and promises privacy.

According to the brand: ”Only you can see where your AirTag is. Your location data and history are never stored on the AirTag itself.

”Devices that relay the location of your AirTag also stay anonymous, and that location data is encrypted every step of the way.

“So not even Apple knows the location of your AirTag or the identity of the device that helps find it.”

One happy shopper describes it as “a guardian angel for my valuables”.

The other, cheaper option I spotted, is Tile Mate Bluetooth Item Finder – and can be used across multiple device types, not just Apple.

The Tile Item Finder costs just £12.99, and keeps track of your everyday essentials thanks to Bluetooth technology and access to the brand’s app.

One more affordable alternative to the Apple AirTags is the Tile Mate, which tracks lost items via Bluetooth

It’s water-resistant and comes equipped with a sound feature and access to the Tile Network.

I also spotted that the product boasts a longer battery life and can be connected to a wider selection of devices.

The Tile Item Finder can remain charged for up to three years and is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, as well as Amazon Alexa, Hey Google, and Siri.

However, you do have to pay for a subscription to access the product’s premium features.

And unlike the AirTag, it doesn’t feature precision-finding technology.

Lots of shoppers haven’t been put off by the Tile’s lesser capabilities though.

”Absolutely life-changing,” writes one shopper. “My boyfriend is very forgetful and after the 100th time searching for his keys, I thought we’d try this.

”He says it’s not just functional, but life-changing… Can’t wait to order myself one!”

Yesterday I found another great Amazon offer on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G Android smartphone, but you’ll have to be quick – it’s one of the online retailer’s popular limited-time deals.
