Disruption hits Gatwick Express trains after burst pipe near London Victoria

A burst water pipe wreaked havoc on trains from London Victoria station this morning.

Holidaymakers heading to Gatwick Airport faced delays and cancellations after a burst water main on Ebury Street outside the station.

Gatwick Express and Southern trains could be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes, with disruption expected until 11.30am as service resumes after the lines reopened.

The London Overground is partly suspended due to a fault with the signalling system at Hampstead Heath. Some lines are blocked, causing cancellations and delays between Gospel Oak and Startford and Barking likely to last until 3pm, Transport for London (TfL) said.

Meanwhile, drivers on UK roads face congestion, including on the M60, M26 and M25.
