Trees saved from axe in 2020 shield Vadodara housing society from crippling floods

In 2020, geologist Hansa Roy fought to save trees near her Vadodara colony from being cut for road widening. Four years later, these same trees protected her neighborhood from severe flooding by preventing soil erosion and maintaining the integrity of a boundary wall, keeping floodwaters at bay while nearby areas were inundated.
