SCO Vs AUS Dream11 Team Prediction, Match Preview, Fantasy Cricket Hints: Captain, Probable Playing 11s, Team News; Injury Updates For Scotland Vs Australia 1st T20I In Edinburgh, 630PM IST, September 4
Scotland will begin their first-ever T20I bilateral series against Australia as the two sides face off in the first T20I match at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh on Wednesday (September 4). Mitchell Marsh-led Australia will be playing their first T20I match since their loss to India by 24 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match.
The last T20I match between these two sides was in the group stages of the T20 World Cup 2024 earlier this year. Scotland were impressive in that clash, posting 180 for 5 after batting first with Brandon McMullen blazing 60 off 34 balls against an Aussie attack featuring the likes of Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa. It took a brilliant 59 off 29 balls by all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and opener Travis Head’s 68 off 49 balls to guide the Aussies home.
Australia are expected to hand a T20I debut to Delhi Capitals opener Jake Fraser-McGurk as replacement to now retired David Warner. Fraser-McGurk was a sensation on Indian Premier League (IPL) debut this year, scoring 330 runs in 9 matches with 4 fifites and an incredible strike-rate of 234.04.
Scotland spinner Mark Watt revealed that the home side are eyeing revenge after their close defeat during the T20 World Cup 2024. “I think we’re after a little bit of blood this week, and not just win a game but win the series,” Watt told Cricket Scotland website.
“We can definitely take inspiration from that game in St Lucia, but we also have a little bit of a point to prove, as we all believe we should have won that game and kicked on further in the World Cup. We can say we got close, but actually in the back of our heads we’re disappointed that we didn’t win. I think it would be a great ending to the year and our home summer. We did so well in the Caribbean, then won three games in Cricket World Cup League Two, so the boys are in a great space,” he added.
