Bangladesh completed a historic Test series triumph over Pakistan on Tuesday. The Tigers won the series by a 0-2 whitewash, making it their first-ever Test series victory over the Men in Green. Bangladesh won the first Test by 10 wickets and the second one by 6 wickets.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the star of the series for Bangladesh as not only did he took 10 wickets but also scored 155 runs. His fantastic performance was rewarded with the Player of the Series award.

“I’m really happy. This is the first time I won the Man of the Series award overseas. So I’m really happy. (Batting at number 8) It’s a tough job. And batting at number 8, so it will be very tough, but I’m just trying to start rotating and support the batsman. Like, um, I got a partnership with Mushi and Litton,” Mehidy said.

He credited Bangladesh’s team management for their stunning performance in the Test series and dedicated his Player of the Series award to the people who died during the recent anti-discrimination protests in Bangladesh.

“So, definitely our most credit goes to our team management there; lots of support, and there are lots of hard workers. and I enjoy a lot you’re practicing in our country. (Team performance) Yeah, definitely. The guys are very, very happy about my performance. And they are very supportive of me, and I’m really happy, and this moment, I never forget that moment,” Mehidy said.

“This is the first time I have won the Player of the Series Award on an overseas tour. You all know that recently there’s been trouble in our country. I want to dedicate this Man of the Series Award to the people who were martyred during the anti-discrimination student protest. There was one rickshaw puller who was injured and later on died. I want to gift this award to them,” Mehidy added.
