Teenager dead after dirt bike accident in Shawnee Co.

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Shawnee County Sheriff's Deputies say one teenager is dead Tuesday after a dirt bike accident.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call about an dirt bike injury accident in the 5100 block of NW Leedy Road.

According to a news release from the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office, lifesaving measures were attempted on the teenager, and sole occupant on the bike, was pronounced deceased.

The accident is under investigation. The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office said additional information is expected to be released Wednesday.
