One in 5 Children Have Autism If Older Sibling Does Too

Roughly 20% of younger siblings of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) were later diagnosed themselves, a new study on familial recurrence of autism published in Pediatrics found. For infants with more than 1 older sibling with autism, the likelihood of ASD rose to about 37%.
