The Nike Sneakers Frances Tiafoe Is Wearing at the 2024 US Open

U.S. men’s tennis star Frances Tiafoe has advanced to the 2024 US Open quarterfinals after a close match on Sept. 1 against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin. Tiafoe, a fan-favorite player known for his fashion sense, clenched the victory wearing a pair of red, orange and white Nike sneakers.
Tiafoe took to the court wearing a two-toned purple athletic outfit from Nike consisting of shorts and a sleeveless top. He repped the brand from head-to-toe, ready for an energized game with a white headband and matching wristbands.
Tiafoe has been competing in the Nike Zoom GP Challenge 1 Premium Men’s Hard Court Tennis Shoes, which retail for $170. Against a neutral white background, the shoes feature a curved design on the outer side, with a gradient effect showcasing gray fading into red across the upper. The design continues on the sole, switching over to a bright orange hue. The shoe features additional orange accents as well as a black tongue and laces. The style is also available in a colorway featuring dark blue and several shades of brown.
The sneaker improves performance on the tennis court with an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot and in the heel. Additional supportive features include a midfoot plastic plate, webbing around the eyestays and extra rubber in the toe region, among other details that make the shoe ideal for hard court tennis.
Tiafoe is known to switch up his footwear; also at this year’s US Open, he sported Nike shoes created for him in collaboration with Cadillac and The Shoe Surgeon. A brand ambassador for Cadillac, the shoes are inspired by his personal story. They are white, blue and green with a multi-colored Swoosh; his nickname Big Foe is written on the back side of the shoe as well.
