Trump ripped by John McCain's son for Arlington Cemetery debacle
Former President Donald Trump's ill-fated campaign stunt at Arlington National Cemetery is receiving criticism from yet another source.
CNN reports that 1st Lt. Jimmy McCain, the youngest son of the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), slammed Trump for his now-infamous thumbs-up photo over the gravestones of fallen American soldiers.
“It just blows me away,” McCain, who has spent the last 17 years serving in the military, told CNN.
He added that, "These men and women that are laying in the ground there have no choice” of whether they want to be part of Trump's latest photo-op.
“I just think that for anyone who’s done a lot of time in their uniform, they just understand that inherently — that it’s not about you there," he said. "It’s about these people who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the name of their country.”

McCain also told CNN that the experiences and sacrifices of American soldiers are completely alien to someone like Trump.
"Many of these men and women, who served their country, chose to do something greater than themselves,” McCain said. “They woke up one morning, they signed on the dotted line, they put their right hand up, and they chose to serve their country. And that’s an experience that Donald Trump has not had. And I think that might be something that he thinks about a lot.”
CNN notes that McCain has become disillusioned for a long time with the Trump-led Republican Party, and he even switched his party registration to Democratic and is backing Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential bid.
Trump repeatedly attacked McCain's late father, going so far as to mock the late Arizona senator for being captured during the Vietnam War, where he was subjected to torture for years in a prison camp.
