Steph’s Packed Lunch fans spot ‘clue’ beloved Channel 4 series is making shock comeback after being axed
FANS of Steph’s Packed Lunch have spotted a ‘clue’ hinting at a triumphant return for the show.
Channel 4’s flagship daytime programme was axed last year amid a “bloodbath” of controversial cuts.
Dedicated viewers now think Steph’s Packed Lunch could be on its way back to screens.
Presenter Steph McGovern, 42, shared a snap of herself on Instagram, with the caption, “Back to business.”
Excited by the possibilities, one fan commented: “Hope you are coming back. Loved Stephs Packed Lunch. Such a good mix of everything.”
Another added: “You’ve found another channel to pick up Steph’s Packed Lunch?”
While a third penned: “Lunch times really aren’t the same since [Steph’s Packed Lunch] finished.
“When are you going to be back on the TV?”
The show aired between March 2020 to December 2023, broadcast live each weekday afternoon.
Memorably, it began (as The Steph Show) from presenter Steph’s own house during the coronavirus lockdown.
Having had some time off air, it was rebranded as Steph’s Packed Lunch that summer.
The programme featured segments including showbiz interviews, consumer advice and food.
BAFTA-nominated, it was also Channel 4’s first high profile regional launch, being based at Leeds Dock;
Regular guests included the likes of Denise Van Outen and Anton du Beke.
At the time of the axing, a source said: “This decision has come totally out of the blue.
“Steph’s Packed Lunch has been going from strength to strength, and has an incredibly loyal fanbase.

“And to axe a regional-based show seems like yet another cronyism move by an out-of-touch bunch of north London-luvvie execs.”
