Morgan Reimer’s dominance leads Canada to 9-0 victory over Mexico

Canada’s WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup Group C game against Mexico featured a strong performance from Morgan Reimer, who struck out the side in the first inning and allowed her team to cruise to a 9-0 victory at The Village in Dallas, United States, on Thursday.

Reimer set the tone early, striking out the side on just 10 pitches in the bottom of the first inning, eight of which were in the strike zone. However, Mexico’s Lilianna Acosta matched Reimer’s effort initially, retiring the first three Canadian hitters in the top half.

Canada broke the game open in the second inning, erupting for six runs on six hits. Cece Brown led the charge with a two-run single, while Chantall Carriere, Cali Chapman, and Jana Want each contributed RBI singles to extend the lead to 6-0.

In the fourth inning, Canada added three more runs, capitalising on a double, two walks, and a pair of wild pitches. Kenzie Hess added one more run with a single, bringing the score to 9-0. Reimer continued to dominate, and Mexico couldn’t find an answer to Canada’s strong performance, sealing the victory for the North American side.
