Mylia Perez Leads the Philippines to a 5-2 Win Over Ireland

The Philippines’ WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup Group C game against Ireland was highlighted by Mylia Perez’s all-around performance, as her team secured a 5-2 victory at The Village in Dallas, United States, on Friday.

The Philippines jumped ahead in the third inning with an RBI single by Rhea Manalo, taking a 1-0 lead after Althea Palzario’s lead-off walk and a wild pitch set the stage. However, Ireland tied the game in the bottom half, taking advantage of four hits, including an RBI single by Ciara McMenamin. A brilliant double play by Jiyah Caban ended the inning, preventing further damage.

In the fifth inning, the Philippines mounted a three-run rally with two outs, thanks to key hits by Rhea Manalo and Elena Eigner, followed by a go-ahead double by Jiyah Caban. Kamille Beals added another run with a single, putting the Philippines up 4-1.
