Trump's flip-flops show 'contempt for voters' as campaign panics: Morning Joe panel
Panelists on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday did little to hide their disgust after watching former President Donald Trump once again push false claims about blue states allowing for the "execution" of babies at nine months of pregnancy.
The comments came as the panelists dissected Trump's frequent contradictory statements on his abortion policy as he indicated last Friday that he would vote in favor of overturning Florida's six-week abortion ban, only to reverse course on the issue over the weekend and say he'd vote against it.
After watching Trump falsely claim that states such as Minnesota allow women to "execute" babies after they're born, host Mika Brzezinski simply said, "That was just a ridiculous lie."
She then turned to panelist Jonathan Lemire, who similarly expressed contempt for what Trump was telling voters about this issue.

"It's reflective of how his campaign is, frankly, panicking about the abortion issue," he said. "I have talked to those in Trump World who have said the former president himself has acknowledged privately that abortion might be the biggest problem his campaign faces this November. We know that publicly he's tried to downplay it, privately advisers are worried about where this stands. Hence the remarkable flip-flops in the last week."
Panelist Willie Geist said that the former president's claims about "post-birth abortions" showed that he has "such contempt for voters."
"Abortions that happen after 21 weeks or 24 weeks are extremely rare," he pointed out. "Women don't want to have an abortion at that point and it means that something medically is wrong and they have to have an abortion. That's not an elective thing that women do casually."
