Man in critical condition after nearly drowning at Lake Thunderbird

LAKE THUNDERBIRD (KFOR) - A man was sent to the hospital Monday afternoon after almost drowning at Lake Thunderbird.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol sent out an alert that around 2:30 p.m. and said that it happened at Little Axe Campgrounds.

Officials said that the victim was swimming at the beach on Labor Day when he started to struggle and asked out for help.

Eventually he was pulled to shore by a bystander who started CPR until Park Rangers and EMS could get there.

After he would be taken to Norman Regional and was listed in critical condition.
