Travis Bazzanna homers again in Captains win, Doug Nikhazy tosses seven strong innings for Clippers
Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Monday, September 2, 2024
Columbus Clippers 0, Gwinnett Braves 1
Box Score · Clippers improve to 69-61
Columbus got some great pitching on Sunday, but that’s not going to matter much when you don’t score any runs.
Starting pitcher Doug Nikhazy took one of the toughest losses of his career, allowing one run in seven brilliant innings on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk. A solo home run did him in.
#Guardians 25yr old LHP prospect Doug Nikhazy went 7.0 innings in his start today for Columbus allowing just one run while striking out a pair of Gwinnett batters.

Also impressing were Davis Sharpe, who added two scoreless innings of relief, and Lenny Torres Jr., who also added a scoreless inning of relief.
Jack Leftwich danced around a solo shot in the ninth inning to earn his 10th save of the season.
Yordys Valdes led the way for Akron’s offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base.
