Bus crashes into students and parents in eastern China, killing 11 and injuring 13, police say

A bus has crashed into a group of students and their parents in eastern China, killing 11 and injuring 13. Police say the students and parents were waiting Tuesday morning at the gate of a middle school in Tai’an city in Shandong province, and that six parents and five students were killed. They say the bus was specially modified for transporting students. The cause of the accident is being investigated and the driver is in custody. School safety, including overloaded school buses and poorly designed buildings, has long been a problem in China.
