East Delhi Riders Triumph in Historic Inaugural Women’s DPL Match Against South Delhi Superstarz
At the opening game of the women’s Delhi Premier League here on Monday, East Delhi Riders Women put up an impressive all-around display to defeat South Delhi Superstarz by 11 runs.
In their first innings, the Riders amassed 114 for eight runs, with Medhavi Bidhuring taking 3/20. Pratika Rawal spearheaded the charge with a 38-ball 41.
Only 103 for six in 20 overs was Superstarz’s response.
With a fifty-run partnership with Pratika in the first half and two wickets in the second, Saachi put up a team effort.
For the Riders, Madhu also took a couple of wickets.
India and 32-year-old Riya Soni Shweta Sehrawat (25) gave the Superstarz a lot of effort at the bat, but they were unable to maintain pressure in the end and lost.
Brief scores: East Delhi Riders Women 114/8 in 20 overs (Pratika Rawal 41, Saachi 20; Medhavi Bidhuri 3/20) beat South Delhi Superstarz Women 103/6 in 20 overs (Riya Soni 32, Shweta Sehrawat 25 off 30; Madhu 2/19) by 11 runs.
