2073 Presents the Slow Creep to Apocalypse

With 2073, Asif Kapadia wants to make a documentary of things that haven’t happened yet. The film blends a fictional future — a post-apocalyptic New San Francisco (not the one from Mr. Show, but close) — with interviews from our increasingly authoritarian present. “2073 is a ‘true sci-fi’ horror. A warning of the world we will get if we don’t act now,” a statement accompanying the trailer reads. “Ghost lives off-grid in a dystopian New San Francisco in the year 2073. The world is controlled by Libertarians, Dictators and Tech Bros. There is no dissent, no freedom.
