TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Troy Police Department has confirmed that it is investigating the drowning of a 26-year-old Troy man. The incident happened on Sunday at Poestenkill Gorge Park on Linden Avenue in Troy.

Rensselaer County Bureau of Public Safety Dispatchers received reports of a possible drowning at the park just after 3 p.m. When first responders arrived, they reported finding an unconscious man who had just been pulled from the water.

According to the police, lifesaving measures were conducted at the scene and on the way to the hospital, but the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
