Babar Azam fails against Bangladesh again; Unwanted streak reaches 616 days
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s forgettable Test cricket run continued as in his final inning of the series against Bangladesh, he yet again failed to score big at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and was dismissed after scoring just 11 runs.
With the dismissal, the unfortunate ‘no Test fifty’ streak for Babar stretched to 616 days. However. it wasn’t only Babar who disappointed for Pakistan with the bat as the likes of Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan also couldn’t contribute greatly to Pakistan’s second inning total.
As a result, the hosts were bowled out for only 172 runs, setting up a target of 185 runs for the visitors to achieve.
Babar was only able to score a total of 64 runs in the 4 Test innings that he played against Bangladesh during the 2-match Test series. The former Pakistan captain’s form just keeps on depleting and it will be a difficult task for him to return to his past form.
